Our Philosophy

The name The Pal perfectly expresses its philosophy. He is a friend, he is your Pal. He exudes all those feelings you feel for a close, your own person. Intimacy, comfort, security.

The Pal is housed in a historic district of Heraklion, Crete. In Tria Pefka, the state refugee settlement operated in 1936. The area became a shelter for refugees who settled here after Greece’s defeat in the Greco-Turkish War (1919-1922) and the subsequent population exchange between Greece and Turkey.

It is a neighborhood with a special aura. You will still see some of the refugee houses around you that remain reminiscent of the past. They are small houses with picturesque courtyards, colorful flower pots, flowers and vines climbing their weathered railings.

The area took its name from the Three Pine Trees that once existed there and a few meters below the The Pal Living In a Concept Hotel, you will see one of them still standing there.
